As most of you know (or have realized by now) our old site went down December 20, 2018. The problem stemmed from old PHP code not being compatible with the latest version of the PHP engine on the server. I have been needing to get the site upgraded for many years but have never made the time to do it. I guess the Lord figured I needed a push to get it done! I have switched to a WordPress backend to simplify maintenance and improve the experience for the end user (you). This page will serve to keep you updated on what we’ve done so far and what’s next on the docket.

Work Completed:

  • 3/11/2019 (Basically everything since last update):
    • Updated to latest version of WordPress.
    • Rearranged download packages and categories to follow normal study flow.
    • Changed homepage New Creation Study Series link to download category page.
      • Removed poorly organized original study link page.
    • Added generic privacy policy page
    • Redirected www.targetingtruth.com to series page.
  • 2/18/2019: ALL PREVIOUS MESSAGE MP3’S ARE NOW ACCESSIBLE!
    • Menu Structure updated with links to newly updated messages.
    • Message pages updated with images to correct menu displacement issue.
  • 2/13/2019: Added a few items, listed below:
    • Added info and links to other congregation locations. Let me know if I’m missing any.
    • updated the “About Us” page – added a map, updated section text, added new section header and bookmark code
    • Added “Concerning Salvation” link in the top menu
  • 2/3/2019: Updated audio quality settings on both streaming link and recorded messages. Messages are now encoded at 32kbps, which will significantly increase quality and file size.
  • 1/14/2019: Added additional study resources, added menu options to header pages, added resource download categories to interior pages.
    • *PLEASE NOTE: There is a lot of work left to do to properly organize the downloads but I thought it best to get the content available again first and clean up after. Thank you for your patience while this is accomplished.
  • 1/14/2019: Updated verbiage on message page headers – changed from “Sermon” to “Message”
  • 1/14/2019: Deleted / archived old “blog posts” imported during joomla database imported, removed unused categories
  • 1/13/2019: Messages preached/taught after the initial site crash loaded to the site. Horizontal Nav Bar Menu Added with links to “Sermon Archives.”
  • /12/2019: Targeting Truth Video Series added to site, backend configurations updated, Message structures updated and prepped for message uploading, menu structures built, events added, about us updated.
  • 1/10/2019: New Creation Study Series downloads republished, available for download, home page updated.
  • 1/5/2019: Developer agrees to message import project, expected completion date end of February 2019.
  • 1/1/2019: Reached out to a developer, explained needs. Continued work on getting New Creation Study Series booklets and PowerPoints available.
  • 12/24/18-12/30/18: Site development continues, research into importing previous message MP3’s continues in earnest, determined that we will need to outsource a PHP, MySQL programmer to import old into new.
  • 12/23/18: Live Streaming link restored.
  • 12/21/18-12/23/18: Attempts to fix the problems failed. Forwarded domain to development WordPress Site.
  • 12/20/18: Site goes down (thanks, Kevin for letting me know).

Upcoming Features/Pages/Content:

  • Import of original message files – expected completion end of February 2019
  • Remaining Resouce Downloads (NT Review, Bible Study Guides, Family Study, Creation Science Notes, etc.)
    • Clean up order, links, etc
  • Update and/or add menus
    • Remove header links from interior pages as needed
  • Privacy Policy Page (Required for robust Google Indexing)
  • Addition of SSL Certificate (Required for robust Google Indexing)
  • Other things that escape me at the moment…
